Creatively Responding to Client Needs With A Global Real Estate Services Organization

Tiffany had previously taken a creativity workshop with Jyoti and knew there was real value in finding an opportunity to share the experience with her team. Client/customer power dynamics inhibited open communication and her team needed to feel empowered to proactively respond to challenges leading with their expertise and confidence.

How We Helped

We combined playful problem solving with experiential learning through storytelling to surface best practices in a safe environment.

Build, Share & Reflect

We worked with the CBRE leadership team to develop a day-long workshop that would help the entire team to overcome fear of failure with a discerning client, cultivate decisive rather than ambiguous communication, and approach problems more creatively through probing for root causes and alternate solutions. After framing the day with the fears and discomfort associated with navigating challenges and conflict, we engaged the team in sharing success stories of overcoming challenges using LEGO® Serious Play® as a communication medium. The team was engaged and everyone meaningfully contributed to the dialogue through participative facilitation methods.

 Our Results

The team walked away with communication best practices and deepened trust that was immediately applied to improve performance.

01. After the workshop, participants reported an increased sense of shared purpose and cohesion among the CBRE Core team and with the client team, including clearer and more open communication.

02. The workshop resulted in clearer and agreed upon priorities, needs and focus areas for delivering more consistent performance on the account in support of the client's mission, based on best practices from the stories that were shared.

“I learned about how my team feels and thinks about things that I may never have figured out without this event. I have been able to carry what I learned forward. Having participated in multiple sessions, I lead and engage others with more empathy and understanding.”
